Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our client''s engineering team based in Cramlington on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Construction, you will play a key role in overseeing mechanical design and engineering activities across a range of projects in the energy sector. This is a leadership position that requires both technical expertise and the ability to provide clear direction to multi-discipline teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee mechanical engineering activities, philosophies, and technical studies. Review and approve specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and vendor drawings. Provide technical consultancy to clients, including equipment selection and design recommendations. Ensure all engineering work complies with QA standards and client procedures. Undertake performance and witness testing of mechanical equipment on behalf of the company or client. Provide expert input across conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases. Offer technical direction, advice, and control within the mechanical discipline. Identify and evaluate new technologies to deliver cost-effective solutions. Liaise with clients and internal engineering disciplines to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables. Develop and improve company standards, design methods, and best practices. Prepare cost, time, and resource estimates for projects and scope change
