Lead Mechanical Engineer (Projects)

Location: Stockton-on-Tees

Salary: £65,000 to £75,000

An opportunity has opened for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in Stockton-on-Tees. The ideal candidate will have a background working as a Mechanical Engineer and have experience of project engineering / management for the full engineering lifecycle.

The role will be onsite working with a small team, assisting with designs and ensuring projects are running smoothly from start to finish.

Lead Mechanical Engineer Key Skills:

• Experienced Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer
• Project Engineering / Project Management experience
• CAD experience – Solidworks, AutoCAD etc
• Experience working on projects related to special purpose machinery (conveyors etc) or structural
• Understanding of engineering calculations and analysis
• Understanding of ISO 9001 standards

Lead Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

• Working with the engineering team on projects from concept to completion
• Designing, reviewing and analysing client specs to ensure projects meet expectations
• Using AutoCAD 3D and Solidworks
• Keeping clients up to date with any changes to design brief
• Inspecting mechanical builds, checking test results
• Liaising with quality and operations to ensure projects are on track
• Project planning and management
• Liaising with the team agreeing on budgets, and estimating costs
