Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience. Relevant experience in employment counselling and related human resources functions.Responsibilities / Tasks
Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and career goalsInterview clients, prepare case histories and assess problemsIdentify barriers to employment and assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, résumés writing, and interview preparationPerform administrative tasksAdvise employers on HR and other employment-related issuesParticipate in fundraising activitiesAdminister and interpret tests to determine interests, aptitudes and abilitiesCollect labour market information for clients regarding job openings and requirementsProvide information and strategies for job satisfaction, mid-career changes and workplace transitionsAssist clients with maintaining or advancing within an organizationProvide consulting services to community groups, businesses and organizations involved in career planningDeliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposiaIdentify and provide referrals for additional or alternative servicesLiaise with community agencies and partnersProvide public education and consultation on counselling services, issues and methodsExperience
