Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to work with our client based in Isle of Wight

Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver
Salary: -14.03

Working Hours.

• Monday to Friday - 06:30 to 15:30 (8.5 hours per day)
• Overtime: Expected and available as required which may also include weekends.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• 1 year minimum of HGV experience
• CPC and Digi Tacho Card
• Experience in waste collection or similar sector preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Strong team working skills and willingness to support operational tasks beyond driving

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our waste and recycling services. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring both driving and operational duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive recycling and waste collection vehicles (Class 2) full training will be provided.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with company and legal requirements
• Operate a Bartec tablet for route navigation, job logging, and reporting.
• Assist with loading and moving heavy bins as required
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure collections are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

PPE & Health & Safety Expectations

• Comply with all health and safety procedures and site rules
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., high-visibility clothing, safety boots, gloves)
• Undertake manual handling tasks safely and responsibly in line with Pristine manual handling training.
• Report any hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly
