Job Description:
We are looking for a kind-hearted and dedicated Care Assistant to join a close-knit team at a special educational facility near Portsmouth This full-time role offers a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with autism and Aspergerandrsquo;s, helping them flourish in a supportive and nurturing environment.

About the School:
The school provides a warm and inclusive space for students aged 4 to 16 with autism and ADHD. With a small, welcoming community of around 100 students, the focus is on offering personalised care and education tailored to each childandrsquo;s needs. The dedicated team works closely together to ensure that every student receives the support they need to grow in their independence, well-being, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and assistance to students with autism and ADHD.
• Support students with daily routines, including mobility, feeding, and hygiene.
• Assist students in engaging with educational and social activities.
• Ensure a safe and comfortable environment tailored to studentsandrsquo; sensory and emotional needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement individualized learning and care plans.
• Maintain accurate records and report concerns to the appropriate staff members.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a care assistant or similar role, preferably within an educational or healthcare setting.
• Understanding of autism, ADHD and associated sensory and behavioural needs.
• A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
• An enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this process if required).
