Overview
The Innovation Delivery Group (IDG) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. Project leadership, including oversight and task management of the project team which may include project managers, project support officers, technical specialists, design consultants and contractors. Mentor and coach project team members, tailoring involvement to suit team strength.Team and context
The IDG delivers complex national projects and programmes to drive innovation, manage risk, and support the Environment Agency’s annual action plan. The group works within Projects and Programme Delivery (PPD) in the Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) directorate and comprises multidisciplinary professionals in water, environment, estates, asset risk and carbon reduction.Experience / Skills
Essential
Significant experience leading complex projects or programmes, ideally in engineering, construction, asset management and/or flood and coastal risk management.Formal training in project management with substantial experience applying tools, techniques and processes across a project lifecycle.Strong commercial acumen with experience of contract management and procurement.Extensive experience in project financial management and forecasting.Experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders and building effective stakeholder engagement plans.Strong report writing with experience producing effective business cases.Technical knowledge and leadership in risk management and health and safety compliance.Desirable
Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM or APMP).Training and experience with NEC contracts.Experience preparing Scope of Services for appraisal and construction contract awards.Project management qualifications: Prince2 Practitioner or APM PMQ.Other information
