Behavioural Support Assistant: SEND SchoolLocation: AshingtonHours: Full TimeContract: Temporaray Long TermSalary: £109 a dayStart Date: Immediate StartLeader Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEND school supporting pupils aged 4 18 years with complex and multiple learning difficulties.About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including:Complex and multiple learning difficulties (CMLD)Speech, language and communication needs (SLCNPhysical disabilitiesSensory needsYou will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.Key Responsibilities:Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groupsAssist with personal care, mobility, and physical support where requiredUse communication strategies such as visual supports, Makaton, or AAC (training provided where neededSupport behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeingWork collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and familiesEnsure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are always followedThe Ideal Candidate:Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)Is patient, empathetic, and resilientCan adapt to individual learning and care needsIs able to work as part of a multidisciplinary teamSafeguarding and DBSLeader
