Teacher Active is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in South Essex that is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Performing Arts. The school offers a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their talents both inside and outside the classroom, with opportunities including a school band, choir, brass band, music summer school and regular participation in community and local events.

The school is looking to appoint a part-time Teacher of Performing Arts on a permanent basis from September 2026. The successful Teacher of Performing Arts will teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5, with the KS3 Performing Arts curriculum comprising 80% Music and 20% Drama. The successful Teacher of Performing Arts will be able to teach and develop students'' skills in composition, performance, keyboard, ukulele, notation and music literacy, whilst demonstrating strong practical musicianship across a range of genres and styles.

The successful Teacher of Performing Arts will have:

• QTS or ECT status

• Experience teaching Performing Arts across KS3, KS4 and KS5

• Strong practical musicianship across a range of genres and styles

• The ability to teach composition, performance, keyboard, ukulele, notation and music literacy

• Excellent classroom management skills

• A passion for inspiring creativity and student achievement
