Full Stack Engineer

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer on a 12-month contract to join a leading quantitative technology firm. This team is responsible for developing and managing a cutting-edge high-performance compute (HPC) platform, empowering researchers to perform complex scientific and financial research at scale.You will play a critical role in enhancing user experience through the design and development of intuitive, visually appealing web interfaces, collaborating directly with world-class researchers and research engineers.The role will focus heavily on Armada – a prominent open-source CNCF project developed by the team to orchestrate multi-cluster Kubernetes batch job scheduling at scale. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build user-friendly front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (React or Angular preferred)Contribute to the design and implementation of robust APIs (Golang preferred)Implement secure authentication mechanisms, ideally using OIDCWork with both relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL ideal)Deliver responsive, performant, and scalable web applicationsCollaborate with stakeholders across research and engineering to gather requirements and deliver featuresContribute to testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance tuningHelp ensure code modularity and maintainability across the stackVisualise large datasets in the UI with clarity and usability in mindDrive product and stakeholder management for frontend-related initiativesWhat We’re Looking For
Proven experience building and scaling full-stack web applicationsStrong front-end skills with modern frameworks (React or Angular)Experience building and consuming APIs, ideally in GolangProficiency with databases such as PostgreSQLSolid understanding of authentication flows, particularly OIDCAbility to visualise and manage large data sets through the UISound knowledge of software architecture principles and performance optimisationExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsFamiliarity with responsive design, automated testing, and CI/CD best practicesNice to Have (Not Essential)
Experience working in HPC, cloud, or Kubernetes-based environmentsContributions to or usage of CNCF open-source projectsExposure to data-intensive applications or research-oriented toolsExperience working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
