Senior Planning Officer - South East LondonRole Details:South East London£35 per hour Umbrella3-month ongoing contract37.5 hours per weekHybrid Working - 2 days office / 3 days remoteAbout the Role:You will act as an authorised officer investigating breaches of planning law and managing enforcement matters from initial complaint through to resolution. The role involves handling complex cases, carrying out site investigations, preparing enforcement notices, and representing the Council in legal proceedings where required.You will also provide support and guidance to junior officers and contribute towards ensuring planning legislation and council policies are effectively implemented.Key Responsibilities:Investigate reported breaches of planning law and determine appropriate enforcement actionManage complex and sensitive enforcement cases independentlyConduct site visits, inspections, and investigations across the boroughPrepare enforcement reports, notices, statements, and legal documentationServe Planning Control Notices, Breach of Condition Notices, and Section 215 noticesInterview individuals under caution in line with PACE proceduresNegotiate with complainants, developers, and parties in breach of planning controlMonitor compliance with planning permissions and enforcement noticesRepresent the Council as an expert witness in court proceedings, public inquiries, and appealsSupport and advise junior officers on enforcement legislation and proceduresMaintain accurate case reco
