Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure all project costs align with scope, client requirements, and current legislationCollaborate with the wider preconstruction team to secure and convert tender opportunitiesProduce accurate and robust cost plans through all design stages up to target priceProvide guidance to design teams and advise clients on affordabilityIdentify risks and value engineering opportunities, proposing effective solutionsAssess and price alternative design options where requiredManage and complete detailed quantity take-offs (SMM7 / NRM2 level)Prepare comprehensive cost handover documentation for delivery teams, including:Bills of quantitiesTender submissionsSupply chain quotations and comparisonsLead procurement scheduling and develop strong supply chain relationshipsSupport change control processes, assessing cost implications across design stagesContribute to design development by advising on cost impacts and budget alignmentEssential CriteriaProven experience delivering two-stage tenders, including pricing all work packagesStrong knowledge of a range of construction methodsExperience managing cost, programme, and quality targetsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accuratelyStrong numerical and analytical skillsValid CSCS cardDesirable CriteriaHNC / NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualificationRelevant degree in construction or commercial disciplineExperience using estimating software such as Conquest (or similar)Experience completing take-off
