Job Title: Permit and Compliance ManagerContract Type: Temporary Contract (3-6 months, with potential for extension)Location: NHS Hospital - South East LondonWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekRate: Competitive day/hourly rate (depending on experience)Start Date: ASAPAbout the Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Permit and Compliance Manager to support our FM operations at a busy NHS hospital in South East London. Working as part of the onsite facilities team, you will ensure that all contractor works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations and hospital policies.This is a critical role in supporting the delivery of safe and compliant services across a live hospital
environment.Key
Responsibilities:Act
as the primary point of contact for Permit to Work (PTW) processes, ensuring all permits are issued, monitored, and closed out in line with compliance
standards.Oversee
and manage contractor access and activities, ensuring safety documentation is provided and reviewed prior to work
commencement.Maintain
up-to-date records of permits, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and associated
documentation.Ensure
all work complies with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda), NHS Estates guidelines, and relevant statutory
legislation.Conduct
site audits and inspections to assess compliance with permit requirements and FM operational
standards.Liaise
with hospital estates, clinical teams, and contractors to minimise disruption to hospital
operations.Support
internal and external audits by providing documentation and demonstrating compliance
processes.Assist
with compliance reporting, tracking remedial actions, and ensuring closure of any non- conformances.Collaborate
with Health and Safety teams to promote a culture of safety and compliance across the site.Key
Requirements:Proven
experience managing Permit to Work systems and compliance in a healthcare, NHS, or similar high-risk
environment.Strong
knowledge of HTM/HBN guidance, CDM Regulations, and statutory building services
compliance.NEBOSH
General Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification (desirable).Excellent
organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple
stakeholders.Experience
in a facilities management, estates, or engineering support role (essential).Working
knowledge of CAFM systems and permit management platforms (e.g. Concept, Planet FM, or
