Mechanical Fitter / Assembler Location: East Grinstead Rate: 18- 20 per hour (Umbrella) Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support the build, installation, and maintenance of bespoke machinery and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced engineering environment, suited to someone with a background in special-purpose machinery, conveyors, automated systems, or precision mechanical builds.The Mechanical Fitter will ideally have the following experience: Strong mechanical fitting background within an engineering or manufacturing environment Experience building, assembling, and installing mechanical components and systems Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawing Experience with special-purpose machinery, conveyors, automation, or production equipment (advantageous) A proactive, quality-focused approach with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a wider engineering team Commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvementThe role will involve: Mechanical assembly and build of machinery and bespoke equipment Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure correct assembly Installation, testing, and commissioning of machinery Carrying out mechanical maintenance, adjustments, and modifications when required Fault-finding and resolving mechanical issues during build and test stages Working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery
