It is a stylish and relaxed friendly space for the local community to enjoy coffee, patisserie, a glass of wine and honest, simple but well executed food.The Ideal Candidate:We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join a small brigade of chefs. The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operation as well as deputising in their absence. The Sous Chef takes pride in their work and enjoys assisting with the development of our food offering.Someone passionate about fresh produce and the cooking of Britain and Italy.

Essential Skills:Pizza making skills; dough handling, stretching, topping and baking techniques.

Strong understanding of HACCP.

Fully conversant in stock rotation and wastage limitation.

Ability to work in a busy environment serving upwards of 100 guests a day.

Hands-on approach with strong communication skills.

Ability to adapt positively to customer and manager feedback.

Responsibilities

:To maintain positive supplier relationships.

Food Safety management and maintaining a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks.

Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes.

Assisting the Head Chef in creating menu items and recipes and developing dishes.

Supervising, motivating, and working closely with other chefs of all levels.

Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.

Ensuring all team members receive a nutritious staff meal each shift.

Assisting other departments and carrying out basic tasks around the business where required.

To make sure the kitchen is cleaned in line with checklists.

Ensure the team is well-presented everyday.

Being responsible for food hygiene practicesof the team.

Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created.

Working Expectations:40-45 hours per week. Monday and Tuesday off.£30k - £35k, depending on experience.Free amazing food and drink on shift.

Christmas Day off.

Supplier trips and workshops.

Qualifications in Food Safety, Health and Safety and Fire Safety.

Staff Purchase Facility; Ability to purchase a case of wine or beer at cost price through our suppliers and have it deducted from your next payslip.
