FRA/Site Inspector Desirable experience includes: Conducting site visits and preparing site inspection or technical reports Carrying out fire risk assessments (FRAs) Preparing Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) in accordance with PAS 9980 Strong understanding of building construction and design, particularly in high-rise residential developments Providing clear, detailed advice on fire safety matters across various building types Attending client and design team meetings to support compliance with Building Regulations, using guidance such as Approved Document B, BS 9999, and BS 9991 Supporting clients in meeting their responsibilities under the Building Safety Act and related legislation Experience working in a consultancy environment Desirable Skills Degree or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline Background in construction (e.g. clerk of works, surveying) Familiarity with PAS 9980 methodology Experience reviewing technical documentation, including drawings, elevations, and design details Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act Understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order Memberships Membership of, or working towards membership with, the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or a similar professional body
