Job Title: Forklift Driver

Role Overview

A well-established, family-run manufacturing business with over 40 years of industry experience is looking to recruit a dependable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join their small, friendly warehouse team. This position has become available due to the planned retirement of a long-standing employee, offering a unique 6-month handover with comprehensive training.

The ideal candidate will be level-headed, self-motivated, and confident working on their own in a busy warehouse setting.

Main Duties

- Working in line with written safety procedures and standard operating guidelines
- Picking orders within an 8,000 sq ft warehouse (around 200 picks per day)
- Receiving, booking in, and storing stock correctly
- Moving stock between the manufacturing site and warehouse locations
- Carrying out stock checks and inventory control tasks
- Repacking and weighing smaller consignments
- Processing and booking in returned goods
- Goods-in duties, including unloading and storing raw materials
- Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and well organised

Candidate Requirements Essential:

- Valid Reach and Counterbalance forklift licences
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently
- Calm under pressure with a proactive mindset
- Polite and professional when interacting with customers

Desirable:

- VNA forklift licence
