Our client, who supports the Automotive sector has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established team and are looking to recruit someone for an immediate start. As a Mechanical Fitter:You will work on new and refurbished resistance welding machines that are supplied to a wide range of clients from within the automotive industry. Overhauling, repairing and refurbishing parts and equipmentFulfill parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained hence minimizing downtimeAssist with ongoing project work e.g. new equipment installationsUndertake any reasonable requests for training, either internally or externally, to improve performance and capabilitiesFlexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours when cover is required Qualifications / Key Skills: Apprenticeship in associated field or adequate experienceWorking knowledge of various types of welding machines an advantageAbility to work under instruction and on own initiativeAbility to read technical drawings and schematics accuratelyStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work safely and adhering to health and safety protocols good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team or independentlyRelevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical trades are desirableBenefits to support this position:Hours - 07.30 - 4.00pm (Mon - Thursday), 2.00pm finish on a FridayWork wear suppliedPaid Holiday + Bank
