***PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY***The Sterile Services (HSDU) at the Great Western Hospital supports operating theatres, endoscopy, clinics, community dentistry, podiatry services, and external customers.This is a non-patient-facing role that is very patient-focused, with the patient at the core of everything we do.The environment is busy and active, requiring flexibility to respond to workload peaks and troughs. The role involves handling surgical instruments, so the ability to deal with the sight of blood is necessary.Please note:

This Band 2 role does not support sponsorship for skilled worker visas.The team is responsible for decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilization, and delivery of surgical instrument packs to internal and external customers. We are looking for more individuals to meet growing service demand.You should enjoy detailed work, be prepared to learn the names of surgical instruments, and work within a department that uses standard operating procedures and a Quality Management System. Being part of a committed, strong team is essential. We pride ourselves on our quality and service for patients.Experience in decontamination, cleaning, or sterilization is advantageous but not necessary, as extensive training is provided.
