Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Our client is a well-established and respected Tier 1 M&E contractor based in London, known for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. With a strong pipeline of prestigious projects, the company is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team immediately.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical packages on major projects with values typically ranging from -5 million and above. You will work closely with the pre-construction team and play a key role in securing future projects.

• Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and tender submissions for projects valued -5m+
• Interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to formulate competitive bids
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and evaluate pricing
• Conduct site visits as required to assess project requirements and constraints
• Analyse and assess risk factors affecting cost and project delivery
• Attend tender meetings and present estimates to internal stakeholders and clients
• Collaborate with internal teams including design, procurement, and project management
• Maintain awareness of current industry and market trends impacting pricing and supply chain

• Proven background as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services or M&E contracting sector
• Experience estimating large-scale mechanical packages (-5m+) on commercial or residential developments
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, public health)
• Excellent understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g. Estimation, Trimble, ConQuest, or similar)
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients, consultants, and colleagues
• Based in or able to commute daily to London
• Able to start immediately or at very short notice
