Salaried GP

Overview
Park Green Surgery requires a Salaried GP to work in a long-established, successful surgery with excellent support in South Kirkby, Pontefract. The PMS Practice provides a spacious, modern surgery, patient continuity and a stimulating working environment. The post is actively involved with the PCN to provide enhanced integrated services within the community. Key information includes 6-8 sessions per week and a practice population of approximately 11,000 patients, with a friendly and cohesive team and in-house clinical and PCN support.Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
The following are core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be occasions to carry out other tasks dependent on workload and staffing levels:The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.The provision of services commensurate with the PMS contract and Primary Care Network.Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.Effective management of long-term conditions in line with QOF requirements.Processing administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated tasks.On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.Work collaboratively, sharing the workload, including filing test results, home visits and rotational on-calls.Adhere to best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit process.Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.Accept delegated responsibility for specific areas or the QOF.Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process and complete the revalidation process.Commit to self-learning and CPD across the practice team.Support partners in achieving strategic aims, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies; promote a culture of continuous improvement.Encourage collaborative working with all staff.Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be asked to:Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead.Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events using structured approaches such as root cause analysis (RCA).Person Specification
Experience
EssentialExperience of working in a primary care environment.Experience of continuing professional development.Experience of QOF and clinical audit.Minimum of two years as a salaried GP.General understanding of the PMS and PCN contract.DesirableExperience of medicines management.Experience of CCG initiatives.Qualifications
EssentialQualified GP with Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP/General Practitioner (CCT).DesirableMRCGP.Legal and Registration
