Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable SSSTS-certified Working Foreman to oversee and actively participate in the installation of balustrades on a construction project in Wood Green, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team, ensuring work is carried out safely, to spec, and on schedule while also taking part in hands-on installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a team of installers on site.

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation.

• Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

• Liaise with site managers, contractors, and suppliers.

• Carry out hands-on balustrade installation (glass, stainless steel, or other systems).

• Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.

• Ensure all operatives follow site rules and wear correct PPE.

• Report progress, issues, and material needs to the site management team.

Requirements:

• Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certificate

• Proven experience as a working foreman in the construction industry

• Strong background in balustrade installation (metal, glass, or architectural systems)

• Ability to lead by example and manage small teams

• Good understanding of H&S legislation and site procedures

• Valid CSCS card (preferably skilled worker or supervisor level)

• Own tools and PPE

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• First Aid certificate

• Manual Handling or other H&S training

• Familiarity with architectural drawings/CAD

• Experience working in London construction environments
