SEN Support Assistant

Uniform Education-is a working with a specialist college dedicated to providing life-changing learning opportunities for young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The College-Centre offers a nurturing environment where students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) can thrive, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals.
Role Overview
As a SEN-Support Assistant-you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with PMLD in their educational journey. Working closely with teaching staff, you will assist in delivering tailored learning activities, promote student engagement, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in learning activities.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Contribute to the development and adaptation of learning resources.
- Support students in developing social and communication skills.
- Uphold the college''s safeguarding and health & safety policies.
Person Specification
- Experience working with students with SEND, particularly PMLD, is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and student independence.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential.
- A willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
