Nurse / Midwife Practitioner - 37.5 hours - 12m FTCThe closing date is 19 September 2025* This role covers our units in Stratford, London and Clapham. It is on a 12 month FTC.Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare?We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to join the clinical team in our London East and Clapham units - working 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.As a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner you will provide high quality clinical care to our clients across a range of BPAS reproductive healthcare services including termination of pregnancy, STI testing and treatment, contraception, and vasectomy. You will be involved in all stages of the client pathway from consultation through to treatment and will work in all areas of the unit including theatre and recovery. This role will involve providing treatment and clinical information to clients both in person and over the phone. You\''ll have excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills, and be adept at caring for clients in a compassionate and empathetic way.Due to this role\''s contract duration, we require the successful candidate to be scan trained.Main duties of the job
You\''ll work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice and the wider regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 and Health and Social Care Act as well as BPAS clinical policies and proceduresEnsure that the client understands her options in relation to the pregnancy, and if choosing termination, meets the ground of the Abortion ActProvide information on STI Testing, undertake tests and provide results and also discuss the client\''s future choice of contraceptionCarefully check for and implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, including administering medication for Medical Abortion procedures or cervical preparationCarry out post-treatment check-ups by assessing the physical condition of the client and discussing any concernsCare for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments. This could include general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaestheticWe are also looking for:Gynecological nursing experience or relevant specialty i.e., sexual health, contraceptionVenepuncture / cannulation skillsAbout You
You''ll be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife with active NMC registration and PIN. You''ll have clinical practice experience of at least 12 months and have a keen interest in sexual health and reproductive healthcare. Clinical knowledge and experience of safeguarding and Fraser/Gillick competencies are essential for this role.You will also be comfortable using IT and Microsoft Packages including Outlook, Word and Microsoft Teams.About us
