The Opportunity: As a Custody Healthcare Professional, you''ll work autonomously, providing essential healthcare to detainees and police staff. This is a unique opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a challenging yet rewarding environment, utilising our company Patient Group Directives (PGDs). Key Responsibilities: Clinical Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments to determine fitness for detention, interview, transfer, or release. Minor Illness/Injury Management: Provide immediate care for minor ailments and injuries, escalating serious conditions as needed. Forensic Examinations: Conduct forensic examinations, record injuries, and collect DNA evidence when appropriate. Specimen Collection: Collect specimens in accordance with legislation. Substance Misuse Assessments: Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal. Mental Health and Learning Disability Assessments: Conduct assessments where appropriate. Documentation and Testimony: Maintain meticulous clinical records, provide written statements, and give oral testimony in court as required. Support and Development: Contribute to the development of medical services and comply with all relevant competencies and legislation. What We''re Looking For (Essential): Registered Nurse (General/Mental Health) or Paramedic Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience Current NMC or HCPC
