Job Title: Site Manager (Temporary) – SEN School
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term Temporary (via agency)
About the Role:
We are seeking a competent, reliable, and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day upkeep, safety, and smooth running of a specialist SEN school site in Maidstone. This is a key role in ensuring the premises are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will be working in a supportive but busy SEN setting, so experience in a similar environment is highly desirable. You will be responsible for site maintenance, security, compliance checks, and liaising with contractors as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school site, buildings, and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
- Conduct daily site checks and carry out general repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Manage site security, including unlocking/locking buildings and operating alarms.
- Monitor and maintain health & safety standards, carrying out regular compliance checks and keeping records up to date.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Support the school with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and general caretaking duties.
- Ensure heating, lighting, and ventilation systems are operational and serviced as required.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, such as leaks, breakages, or urgent repairs.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a Site Manager, Caretaker, or Facilities role (preferably in an educational or SEN environment).
- Strong practical skills in basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
- Good communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude.
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Enhanced DBS check ESSENTIAL
