Job Title: HGV Technician / Mechanic - Day shifts
Location: Adlington
Salary: £20 per hour + bonus schemes
Overtime: Available at time and a half on Saturdays

Work Schedule:

• Week One: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Week Two: Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, plus Saturday morning (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Technician / Mechanic to join a leading commercial vehicle maintenance provider. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a wide variety of HGVs, trailers, and drawbars, performing servicing, repairs, and diagnostics to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, service, and repair all makes and models of HGVs, trailers, and drawbars.
• Use the latest diagnostic tools and manufacturer-specific equipment.
• Perform repairs on brakes, clutches, gearboxes, engines, and electrical systems.
• Carry out MOT inspections, preparation, and presentation.
• Conduct roller brake testing, fault diagnosis, and necessary repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Occasionally work on small plant machinery.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow company policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified vehicle mechanic with one of the following:
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
• Time-served experience in vehicle mechanics

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately.
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and laptops.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Proactive, flexible “can-do” attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Own tools required.
• HGV License preferred but not essential.
