Basketball England is the National Governing Body for basketball in England. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager/Head of Finance to lead our finance function, ensuring the organisation''s long-term sustainability and supporting the growth of the game.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Management Team, you will:

Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Provide clear analysis and advice to the CEO, EMT, and Board.

Manage and develop the finance team (currently one Finance Assistant).

Oversee financial reporting, controls, and compliance with statutory and funder requirements.

Lead on cashflow management, audits, and risk.

Support commercial growth, funding bids, and business development initiatives.

About You

We''re seeking someone who is:

A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Experienced in leading a finance function at a senior level.

Skilled in financial planning, management accounting, and cashflow forecasting.

Confident in managing audits, financial controls, and compliance.

An effective communicator, able to engage with non-financial colleagues and stakeholders.

Proactive, resilient, and committed to high standards.

Experience using cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, Dext Prepare, ApprovalMax) is desirable. A genuine interest in sport and alignment with Basketball England''s values is essential.
