Key ResponsibilitiesAs an inspiring English Teacher, you will:
Design and deliver an engaging, inclusive English curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (and ideally KS5)
Implement innovative teaching strategies that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression
Use varied and effective assessment tools to monitor progress and support achievement
Champion a love for reading and writing, encouraging students to explore literature and language beyond the classroom
Promote a positive, well-managed learning environment built on respect and academic ambition
Collaborate with department colleagues to share best practice and enhance curriculum delivery
Engage in continued professional development to remain current in pedagogy and subject content
To be considered for this English Teacher position, you will need:
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), preferably with a PGCE or equivalent in English or a related subject
Proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
A solid understanding of the national curriculum and modern assessment techniques
Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
A collaborative attitude and a genuine commitment to student growth
A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
