A growing group business based on the outskirts of Manchester is looking to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to assist in the company''s growth.Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have full responsibilities for the company''s finance function and will be part of the Senior Management Team. Duties will include:Preparation and review of monthly financial statementsPreparation and review of monthly board packsPreparation of annual statutory accounts for non-audit companiesPreparation of year-end external audit fileLiaising with and assisting external auditors and professional advisersPreparing and submitting VAT returnsLiaising with VAT consultants to maximise VAT recoveryLiaising with Corporation Tax advisers to ensure timely payment of liabilities and filing of returnsPreparing financial models and forecasts on an ad hoc basis as requiredReviewing and authorising invoices for paymentActing as signatory on company bank accounts and making payments when necessaryLiaising with key suppliers and pushing for cost reduction where appropriateOur client is experiencing year-on-year growth, and this opportunity offers a fantastic chance for the successful candidate to develop into a role that could be substantially expanded over time.You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and an attitude to embrace change.
