Build Recruitment are currently seeking a qualified Electrician to join our client’s repairs and maintenance team working within occupied and void social housing properties. This role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and testing services in line with current regulations and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a commitment to customer service, and experience working in domestic or social housing environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance & RepairsCarry out reactive and planned electrical maintenance within occupied and void social housing properties.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently and safely, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants.
Replace or install electrical fixtures and fittings such as sockets, lighting, cookers, and showers.
Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and remedial works in accordance with BS7671 (18th Edition).
Complete testing and certification of all electrical works undertaken.
Assist with periodic electrical upgrades, rewires, and planned improvement programmes.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with Part P, NICEIC, and Building Regulations.
- Work on solar panel installation
Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
Conduct on-site risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Liaise professionally with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
Keep accurate records of all works completed using handheld devices or paperwork as required.
Report any safeguarding or property concerns to the relevant teams promptly.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS7671).
2391 or 2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualification desirable.
Previous experience in social housing, domestic maintenance, or responsive repairs.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Full UK manual driving licence required.
