The position is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of key environmental front line services within the council. The role requires a strong focus on budget management, environmental sustainability, waste management, and the protection of natural resources, while aligning with the council''s priorities and contributing to the overall environmental objectives. The service portfolio includes the management of: Waste management, Waste collection, Street cleansing, Transfer station, HWRC, Grounds maintenance, Minor highway repairs, Fleet and plant management, Parks and open spaces management, Allotment Service, Cemetery and Crematorium, Recycling and sustainability. To lead an effective Environmental Service, being accountable for all aspects of the Council s key environmental front line services team within the service.
