Infrastructure Engineer

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a multi-disciplined Engineering team that supports, and delivers transformations for, a critical large-scale on-prem Cybersecurity platform.In your role, you''ll use your technical skills to design, develop, test and support the infrastructure that forms the foundations of our vital services. In this ever-changing environment, you''ll work on interesting and challenging problems, that stretch you and provide the opportunity to work on the latest technologies.This job role can be based in London, Ipswich or Cheltenham. Onsite (Office- based 5 days per week). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Clearance before starting this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.What you''ll be doing
Support the maintenance of existing IT infrastructure. This could include:
System administration tasksAutomating repeated manual tasksTroubleshooting issuesSystem health monitoringDeveloping monitoring solutions to identify system inefficienciesPatching vulnerabilities
Be hands on in the transformation/modernisation of existing infrastructure, or creation of new. This could include:
Evaluating new technologies against requirementsDeveloping proof of conceptsUsing your expertise to support the system architecture design
Identify and contribute to the improvement of inefficient ways of workingActively contribute and engage in knowledge sharing activitiesEngage with and support users of the PlatformEssential Skills
