About Us
Spencer Clarke Group is looking for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to support a thriving primary school in Liverpool. This role is centred on helping children with special educational needs (SEND) to reach their full potential in both their learning and personal development.
We are seeking someone who can bring patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children across a range of needs within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you''ll work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and as part of the wider classroom team. Your role is vital in ensuring pupils are engaged, supported, and encouraged to achieve their best in a safe and positive setting.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support for pupils with SEND across the primary school.
Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated activities.
Supporting social, emotional, and communication skill development.
Encouraging independence and resilience in learning.
Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
Preparing and adapting learning resources to suit the needs of individual pupils.
Tracking and recording pupil progress, sharing feedback with staff and parents.
Requirements
We''re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally with SEND.
Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
A positive, empathetic, and adaptable attitude.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential).
