About the Role

As Head of MFL, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the MFL department, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students. You will lead a team of dedicated and passionate language teachers, promoting excellence in teaching and learning and encouraging students to engage with languages both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, manage, and develop the MFL department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.

- Create and implement a departmental improvement plan aligned with the school''s wider goals.

- Inspire and motivate a team of MFL teachers to deliver outstanding lessons.

- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning, and student progress in MFL.

- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.

- Manage departmental resources effectively and ensure all staff have the tools and support they need to succeed.

- Foster a love of languages across the school and ensure a broad and balanced curriculum.

About You:

- You will be a qualified teacher with a passion for Modern Foreign Languages and a proven track record of success in the classroom.

- You will have previous experience in a second, leadership, or management role, with the ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team.

- You will be highly organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- A commitment to ensuring that all students achieve their best and are fully supported in their learning journey.

- You will be a strategic thinker, capable of adapting to changing circumstances and leading the department through exciting challenges and opportunities.
