Counter Fraud Consultant/Senior Consultant

Our established Fraud Risk Services team is looking for more fraud experts who can quickly assist clients to identify gaps in their fraud controls and remedy these, or work with their teams to train staff to recognise and prevent fraud. Our consulting team delivers six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance. We provide data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower clients in building sustainable, future-fit businesses. This is a role with varied responsibilities in a fast-growing firm with ambitions to be the premium adviser to the middle market globally.We are looking for individuals with fraud prevention experience who can contribute from day one, including assisting clients with identifying fraud gaps and training staff, and who can undertake tasks described below in our counter fraud services portfolio for public and private sector clients, including NHS bodies where CFA reporting is required.Responsibilities

Undertaking Fraud and Bribery Risk Assessments – work with senior managers to understand controls, test effectiveness, highlight missing/ineffective controls, and score residual risk.Policy reviews – review clients’ policies where fraud or bribery risks exist and ensure suitable controls are listed to reduce the possibility of offences.Liaison with senior staff – report to the Director of Finance or Chief Financial Officer to keep them informed of fraud prevention work, risk levels, and progress; produce and present annual workplans and reports.Delivering training – prepare and present informative training sessions to clients’ staff, from induction for new starters to in-depth sessions for finance, HR, or procurement staff, and informing boards on regulatory requirements.Undertaking proactive exercises – deep-dive into identified fraud risk areas to review and test controls, identifying whether fraud is present and strengthening procedures.Receipt of fraud referrals – receive complaints related to fraud, bribery, or corruption and work with appropriate channels to ensure clear reporting lines.Receiving referrals of fraud, bribery or other offences, identifying estimated loss/gain, key lines of enquiry and proportionality to investigate.Submitting information requests under data protection rules for evidence.Liaising with witnesses to gather evidence and take statements; undertaking interviews under caution; preparing case papers for the CPS.Recognising when criminal sanctions may not be proportionate/appropriate and recommending internal/regulatory action.Making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence; working with NHSCFA Financial Investigators to gather financial evidence.Qualifications / What we are looking for

Be able to pass enhanced security vetting (NPPV + SC – Non-Police Personnel Vetting and Security Clearance).Be able to pass DBS clearance.Excellent verbal communication skills to articulate complex, sensitive, and confidential information to staff, clients, and other stakeholders.Excellent written communication skills with the ability to construct high-quality reports for varying audiences.Strong ability to organise a varied workload, plan and manage own workload and calendar, ensuring high-quality client service.Ability to work unsupervised, use initiative, and strive to exceed client expectations.What we can offer you / Benefits
