The successful applicant requires strong commercial contracting skills and experience providing legal support on a broad range of legal issues to internal stakeholders throughout the business. Primarily supporting the company’s newest UK business unit, property tax, this lawyer reports directly to the Associate GC for the whole Europe/Asia-Pacific division (solid line), who in turn reports to the company’s chief legal officer and the company’s UK president (dotted line). While contracting is the main activity, the scope of this generalist portfolio also includes employment, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and corporate governance.Responsibilities

Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, including client engagement agreements and related documents e.g., MSA, client agreements, confidentiality agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and vendor agreements.Advising internal clients and liaising with other third parties in the giving of commercial adviceSupport on compliance matters in EAP, including data protection, privacy GDPRPrepares template business contracts and forms.Supports the drafting and review of select Firm policies and procedures, or compliance areas.Provide practical and timely strategic legal advice to HR, business leadership, and other stakeholders on employment law mattersSupports corporate governance and legal entity recordkeeping needs.Maintains collaborative rapport with local leadership on behalf of the global Legal DepartmentSkilled at maintaining composure and delivering decisive guidance under pressure and in the face of incomplete information.Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal issues for diverse business audiences.Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK or equivalent. Undergraduate degree required. Strong contract negotiation with varying degrees of independence is required.Strong knowledge of commercial contracts and data protection is required. Eight years of experience is preferred, including an in-house Legal Department environmentComputer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LMS, WebEx, Outlook, and internet navigation/research.Education And Experience

Eight years of experience preferred; in-house Legal Department experience is desirable.Supervisory Responsibilities
