StantecThe OpportunityStantec is involved in many of the world’s largest and most exciting hydropower projects. We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team, working on the design and development of hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions. This role can be based anywhere in the UK.You will play a key role in all project phases, from feasibility to commissioning, leading electrical engineering design, including generators, control systems, protection, substations, and transmission lines. You will oversee design, modeling, and analysis to ensure feasibility and standards compliance. As a Principal, you will also manage team members, support business growth, and collaborate across disciplines.There are opportunities to work on grid upgrade projects, including transmission lines and substations. You will mentor junior engineers and support a collaborative, innovative work environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainable energy and industry impact.About YouChartered or Incorporated Engineer status with IET, or working towards it.Experience with large rotating machines, especially hydro/pumped storage systems, is highly desirable.
