Test Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Test Technician to join a well-established UK manufacturer on a contract basis outside IR35. This role offers the chance to work on innovative technology within a fast-paced and rewarding environment to start immediately.

If you have experience in a production or industrial environment, working with technical teams, strong skills in component-level fault-finding, proficiency with test instruments, and a solid understanding of electronic systems and schematics, we''d love to hear from you.

Candidates must ideally have held SC Clearance previously.

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00

Role & Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed visual and functional checks on electronic units to industry standards
• Document all test processes, including hardware, software, and embedded code setups
• Use standard lab instruments to capture precise electrical measurements
• Identify and report issues found in technical/test documentation
• Log all data, faults, and progress notes accurately using system tools
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace in line with H&S protocols
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project deadlines

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years'' experience in a production or industrial environment
• Proven collaboration with technical and design teams on engineering tasks
• Previous experience working on projects requiring high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
• Proficient with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers, voltmeters & bench PSUs
• Skilled in fault-finding at component level (analogue & digital systems)
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and test documentation
• Strong understanding of electronic assemblies, electrical systems, and circuitry
