OverviewMainframe Consultants at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagramming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.

Responsibilities

Contribute to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems.

Long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution.

Be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front.

Deal with client expectations and internal challenges; collaborate with Architects, Technicians, and PMs throughout the project lifecycle.

Work in a role that isn’t specific to one platform, providing variety and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics).

Enterprise IT application experience.

Hands-on experience in at least one: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain.

In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

Experience driving engineering solutions and working across teams.

Strong planning, communication (verbal and written), and process improvement skills.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Knowledge of AWS and Azure; experience with AWS hosting architecture is a plus.

Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.

Familiar with IT concepts, practices, and procedures.

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
