A welcoming, high achieving Primary school in the New Forest area is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs throughout KS1. The schools supports children with SEMH needs by following a specialist curriculum within an Additional Needs Provision, in which you would have training and support in to deliver key activities to those children who need some extra support.andnbsp;

The Role:


  • Provide group support for those children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Facilitate access to the curriculum through tailored communication strategies
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and strong social connections
  • Be willing to go the extra mile and support children at lunch and break times too
  • Encourage all pupils to be curious, inclusive and supportive of similarities and differences
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent, effective support
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils



What We''re Looking For:


  • Experience working with children in an educational or early year setting
  • A desire to support children with trauma, mental health and other special educational needs
  • An interest in working with a holistic and specialist curriculum
  • A genuine willingness to learn and grow in this area
  • Strong communication skills and a creative, caring, flexible approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children''s welfare
