Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Location: CA6 4EZ Salary: £16.23 - £21.64 per hour Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities: Pre-Contract: Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender documentation. Contract Administration: Administer NEC4 contracts (especially Option A) and ensure compliance with the contract terms and conditions. Cost Control: Prepare and review cost plans, and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within budgetary limits. Cost Reporting: Produce weekly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) on-site for tracking progress and identifying discrepancies. Change Management: Effectively manage variations and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and agreement with all stakeholders. Tendering: Evaluate tenders and negotiate costs with contractors and suppliers. Site Liaison: Regular site visits to assess work progress and resolve any cost-related issues. Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and consultants to achieve project objectives within time and budget. Key Skills and Experience: Previous QS Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure projects. NG Projects (Desirable): Experience working on National Grid (NG) projects would be beneficial. NEC4 Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with the NEC4 suite of contracts, especially Option A (fixed price contract).
