OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Transcriptionist Team Leader to join the St Helens Administrative Team. The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to Consultants and Junior Medical Doctors in Community Mental Health Services.

About the serviceOur community mental health teams work with people with severe and enduring mental health issues as well as those with less severe illness who have not responded to provided interventions in primary care services. They offer flexible, responsive and proactive integrated services to individuals with severe and complex mental and behavioural disorders. The service is delivered primarily within individuals’ homes and aims to enable crisis intervention to achieve the highest level of functioning in the least restrictive setting, preventing unnecessary hospitalisation and facilitating more rapid discharge from acute care settings.

Responsibilities

Plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate the work of the identified service.

Organise own workload and co-ordinate workload activities within the team.

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner.

Work to tight deadlines and manage pressure in a busy department, using own initiative where required.

Operate with a high degree of confidentiality and comply with Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

Proficient in audio-typing and word-processing packages.

Qualified to RSA Level 3 typing/word-processing or equivalent.

Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.

Possession of the AMSPAR certificate.
