You will develop algorithmic and machine-learning systems that power Deliveroo’s delivery network. Working in a cross-functional team with engineers, data scientists, and product managers, you will develop systems that make automated decisions at a large scale. Our team tackles interesting problems at the intersection of riders, consumers, and restaurants, evaluating performance through our experimentation platform.Your responsibilities may include:Optimizing our delivery network through rider assignment decisions, journey time predictions, or delay mitigation.Enhancing simulation capabilities to predict the impact of algorithmic changes.Optimizing consumer and rider fees.You will also collaborate with teams working on:The consumer experience by displaying relevant restaurants and dishes.Detecting fraud and abuse.Helping restaurants optimize their presence on Deliveroo.Creating an ML platform to enhance capabilities.You will report to an ML/OR Manager. This is a hybrid role based in London.Requirements

3+ years'' experience as an ML Engineer or Data Scientist.Fundamental knowledge of machine learning and operational research, demonstrated through a relevant PhD or work experience.Proficiency in programming with Python, Rust, and Go.Experience with discrete event simulations and/or combinatorial optimization problems.Understanding of end-to-end model deployment.A focus on simplicity and impact.About Deliveroo
