However, it is the single biggest human-driven source of methane emissions globally, emitting more than both the oil and gas industry and the coal industry.The deployment of our technologies on a global scale has the potential to drive half the global methane reduction needed by 2030, and to greatly transform the beef and dairy industries.ZELP was an inaugural winner of the Terra Carta Design Lab, and has received funding and support from the European Commission, Innovate UK, The Global Methane Hub and the Gates Foundation.We are seeking an experienced and driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team as a strategic partner to the CEO. This role is designed for a highly capable leader who can translate vision into execution, ensuring that company strategies are realised through disciplined operational management and cross-functional alignment.This person will have a key role leading the manufacturing and supply chain functions, while overseeing and driving operational performance across commercial, engineering, and other business functions. Partner closely with the CEO to shape and implement long-term strategies and ensure they translate into effective action.Create a performance-driven culture with strong operational discipline and accountability.Establish and track key operational metrics, and report performance to the CEO and Board.Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and adjust operational tactics in response to internal and external changes.Drive excellence in procurement, production, distribution, and quality assurance with clear KPIs and continuous improvement practicesBuild, implement, and optimize production systems, facilities, and global supply chain infrastructure.Define and implement robust quality management systems (QMS) to ensure consistent product performance and compliance.Establish manufacturing and assembly processes in accordance with industry standards (e.g., Ensure product certification and regulatory compliance across target markets (e.g., Demonstrable experience (10+ years) as a COO, General Manager, or equivalent executive operations role, ideally within hardware-focused start-ups or agriculture/climate tech industries.Strong understanding of business functions, including commercial, engineering, and administrative operation.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA or advanced technical degree a plus).Competitive compensation package with share options.Seniority level
