Graduate/Early Career Developer - London /Finance/Graduate - 40K + Benefits. Join to apply for the Graduate/Early Career Developer role at Adaptive. This role starts in early November 2025 in London and is aimed at graduates, junior developers or those transitioning to a career in technology with an interest in low-level computer architecture, messaging and distributed systems. The role pays £40,000 per annum.Adaptive is a successful and growing software consultancy specializing in high-throughput, low-latency trading systems in the cloud. We sponsor technologies such as Aeron and tailor solutions to client needs. As a consultancy, our clients rely on strong technical decisions, collaboration with stakeholders, and up-to-date practices in fintech. We are looking for candidates to join in early November 2025 to build on their degree, internships or previous experience, learn about finance, and have a great time while doing so.Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to craft elegant and performant software solutions.Engage in back-end development with a focus on distributed systems and cloud technologies.Collaborate with consultants, clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impact.Learn and apply industry best practices in fintech software development.YOU ARE

Knowledge/interest in computer science topics:

Computer architecture and performance trade-offs (memory, CPU, caching).Networking (OSI model; UDP, TCP, HTTP).Distributed systems (RPC, message passing; RAFT concepts).Languages and compilers: C/C++, Rust, Java or .NET; understanding GC and memory pressure.Algorithms and data structures; a degree in CS/Math/Science is helpful but potential is valued.

Strong interest in back-end technologies built with Java.Interest in distributed systems and cloud technologies.Java coding experience or experience with similar languages (JavaScript, Python, Go, C#).Strong desire to progress and learn.The Early Careers Program
