SEN Teacher

Role: SEN (PMLD) Teacher Location: Aylesbury Full-Time / Part-Time Start Date: Immediate / May 2024 We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher with expertise in working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This role is based at a supportive and well-resourced SEN school in Aylesbury. You will play a vital role in delivering highly individualised teaching and care, ensuring all students are supported to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualised learning plans (IEPs) tailored specifically for students with PMLD, focusing on sensory engagement, communication, and life skills.Deliver multi-sensory lessons using a range of visual, auditory, and tactile strategies suited to each student s abilities and EHCP targets.Use specialist communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, Eye Gaze, AAC) to support students with limited or non-verbal communication.Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, OTs, and support staff.Monitor and assess student progress using P Levels, Engagement Model, or other appropriate assessment frameworks.Provide a safe, predictable, and emotionally secure environment, supporting students with complex medical and care needs where applicable.Liaise with parents/carers regularly, building trusting partnerships to support learning beyond the cl
