Are you an experienced Assistant Operations Manager looking to take the next step in your career? We’re currently recruiting for a driven and hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to join our growing team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, people-focused professional to support the day-to-day running of our operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and team cohesion.
As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Operations Manager and wider leadership team in overseeing performance, processes, and staff across multiple departments. You’ll be integral in ensuring that daily operational targets are met while maintaining excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Operations Manager:

Assist the Operations Manager in the daily running of all operational departments, ensuring targets and KPIs are consistently met.

Lead and support frontline teams, offering guidance, performance feedback, and daily supervision.

Monitor workflow and identify areas for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings.

Oversee health and safety procedures, ensuring all operations comply with regulations and internal policies.

Conduct regular audits and reviews to support operational excellence.

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery.

Provide cover for the Operations Manager during absences and take initiative to lead meetings or projects as needed.

Maintain accurate reporting and documentation across all areas of the operation.
What We’re Looking For in an Assistant Operations Manager:

Proven experience in an Assistant Operations Manager or similar supervisory or team lead role.

Strong understanding of operational processes, service delivery, and staff management.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and manage performance.

Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

IT-literate with experience using Microsoft Office and internal reporting systems.

Experience in logistics, manufacturing, facilities, or a similar operational environment is desirable.
