The role & about the client:
 
On behalf of our client, ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable residential construction company based in Portsmouth. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost estimating and budgeting- detailed cost estimates, develop and manage the projects. 
• Prepare documents and evaluate subcontractors and supplier quotes
• Assist the QS to ensure everything runs smoothly 
• Draft and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. 
• Identify and investigate cost variances 
• Assess cost implications and prepare and negotiate variations and change orders. 
• Prepare and agree final accounts 
• Ensure costs and contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. 

• Relevant and proven experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a housebuilder. 
• Relevant tickets/ qualifications 
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills. 
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills 
• Commercial awareness 
• Clear understanding of the HSE building regulations and all relevant legal requirements. 
• Software knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, Sage, Eque 2, Project.
