Senior Site Engineer

Our client is a leading Tier 1 build contractor based in the East Midlands. They are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Site Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and managing site engineering operations across one or multiple projects, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities: -

• Lead site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with company procedures and project requirements
• Lead and manage engineers and assistant engineers that are within your project teams to deliver all requirements of their own role descriptions
• Safely lead and manage all engineering aspects of the project through to a successful completion to programme, quality and cost including a lead role in managing and communicating with other subcontract engineers.
• Coordinate with the design and project teams to ensure timely availability of accurate design information
• Manage and communicate scope changes effectively to minimise risk and maintain programme delivery
• Identify, record, and manage all existing and new services on site, ensuring clear communication to all stakeholders
• Raise and manage excavation permits in accordance with company procedures
• Establish, check, and maintain all setting out controls including stations, coordinates, and levels
• Ensure accurate transfer of control data to site teams in line with programme requirements
• Oversee lifting operations to ensure compliance with approved lifting plans
• Maintain high standards of QA, documentation, and record keeping
• Promote and uphold health & safety standards across all site activities

Education, skills and experience

• Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within the construction industry preferably from a Tier 1 Contractor or similar
• Strong understanding of setting out, coordination, and site controls
• Experience with excavation permits and knowledge of work wallet systems
• Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and risk management
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing site conditions
• Lift Coordinator training (desirable)
• Willingness to travel and lodge away on occasions
