Learning Mentor 1 day a week, long-term temporary position starting as soon as possibleThis is a rewarding opportunity for a Learning Mentor to support pupils in a school where leaders are ambitious for all learners and provide a safe, inclusive environment. Staff are well supported and share high expectations for behaviour and achievement. Pupils are respectful, enjoy learning, and benefit from a curriculum that promotes both academic and personal development.Duties as Learning Mentor:Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils with social, emotional, or mental health needsSupport pupils in developing coping strategies and building resilienceWork closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement support plansMonitor and record pupil progress and well-beingDeliver structured interventions and emotional literacy programmesPromote positive behaviour and engagement in learningMaintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding responsibilitiesIdeal Learning Mentor:Holds a qualification in psychology or a related fieldExperience working with children or young people with mental health needsBackground in counselling, mentoring, or therapeutic support rolesStrong interpersonal and communication skills as a Learning MentorEmpathetic, patient, and able to build trust with pupilsConfident working independently and as part of a teamCommitted to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-beingWhy Step Teachers?
